Deanary 1948
BeskrivelseWith the division of the Oslo diocese in accordance with the law of December 12, 1947, Hurum, Lier, and Røyken were transferred back to the Drammen deanery from the Asker deanery. With the inclusion of Aker in Oslo, in accordance with the law of July 11, 1947, the parishes in Aker were once again incorporated into the Oslo cathedral deanery. The deanery then consisted of Asker, Vestre, and Vestre Bærum parishes. The Larvik deanery was part of the Oslo diocese until 1948, when it was transferred to the newly established Tunsberg diocese. In 1948, the Oslo diocese was split into the Oslo diocese and Tunsberg diocese (covering Buskerud and Vestfold counties). Therefore, all underlying units have changed codes. The Drammen deanery was part of the Oslo diocese until 1948, when it was transferred to the newly established Tunsberg diocese. The former Sør-Jarlsberg deanery, with the creation of the Tunsberg diocese, became the cathedral deanery in the diocese, effective July 1, 1948. However, due to compatibility with changes for the Tunsberg diocese, exceptions have been made to the validity period rules, and the Tønsberg cathedral deanery will be valid from January 1948.
