| Beskrivelse | The Norwegian Standard Classification of Education (NUS2000) is used for grouping peoples education activities and education background. The standard is used in Statistic Norway's education statistics, and in other statistics where education is included as an variable. In addition to this, the standard is used in external research and of companies in their personal administrative systems. For more information, see NOS C 751 (under publications).
The main changes compared with the previous versions of The Norwegian Standard Classification of Education (NUS1970, NUS1973, NUS1989) is a new classification of levels, a distribution of subjects equal on all levels, and an specification on which subjects each education include. An other big change is the introduction of code type. For education activities completed within Norway's ordinary education system, the standard shall be complete. All education activities have their own education codes. This means, for example, that grades and subjects under the Upper Secondary Education Act have own codes. Also other education activities is classified with the standard, but then with use of codes ether specified on education field, subject group or education group. |
