Taxi industry slows down

The number of trips fell by 5.2 per cent in the 3rd quarter of 2015 compared to the same quarter the previous year. The industry’s turnover was NOK 2.0 billion; a decrease of 2.3 per cent compared to the 3rd quarter of 2014.

In the reporting period, the total length driven by taxis was 126 million kilometres; 7.5 per cent less than in the 3rd quarter of 2014. A total of 66 million kilometres were driven with passengers, which is 6.0 per cent less than in the same period in 2014. This equates to a capacity utilisation per kilometre driven of 52.5 per cent; an increase of 1.5 per cent compared to the 3rd quarter of 2014.

Turnover per trip increased from NOK 270.3 in the 3rd quarter of 2014 to NOK 278.7 in the 3rd quarter of 2015; an increase of 3.1 per cent.
