Tax revenue up 4.7 per cent in first half of 2009

In the first half of 2009, total tax revenue amounted to NOK 391.9 billion. This is an increase of NOK 17.8 billion or 4.7 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Tax payments to municipalities increased by 7.9 per cent or NOK 4.2 billion to NOK 57 billion. Ordinary taxes to county municipalities totalled NOK 11.2 billion; an increase of 3.9 per cent or NOK 400 million compared to 2008.

Employer contributions to the National Insurance Scheme constituted NOK 60.9 billion, while member contributions amounted to NOK 44.4 billion. Compared to the same period last year, this is an increase of 6.6 and 8.9 per cent respectively.
