Gross taxable income increased by 9 per cent from 2007 to 2008, and amounted to NOK 1 300 billion. Average gross income amounted to NOK 345 300.
Income wages grew by almost 10 per cent in 2008, and capital income increased by 9 per cent.
While gross income increased by 9 per cent, the income deduction increased by 20 per cent in 2008. Average income deduction amounted to NOK 103 600. Minimum deduction is the largest income deduction with an average of NOK 53 800. Interest paid amounted to an average of NOK 33 100.
From 1993 to 2008 average income deduction increased from NOK 43 800 to NOK 103 600. Converted to 2008 figures this is an increase of NOK 44 100. Minimum deduction had a continuous growth during the period, while the interest paid varied. Gross income increased by NOK 188 100 through the period, and converted to 2008 figures this is an increase of NOK 132 000.
