Considerable growth in hotels and restaurants

Hotels’ turnover increased by 4.5 per cent from 2011 to 2012, and the corresponding increase for restaurants was 5.9 per cent.

The 2 900 enterprises in accommodation employed 27 800 persons in 2012; 3.0 per cent more than in 2011. Turnover grew by 4.5 per cent to NOK 24.4 billion in 2012.

Food and beverage service activities employed 61 100 persons in 2012. Turnover grew by 5.9 per cent to NOK 40 billion over the same period.
