Considerable growth in hotels and restaurants

Hotels increased their turnover by 6.7 per cent from 2010 and the restaurants’ turnover increased 7.2 per cent from the previous year.

The 2 847 enterprises in accommodation employed 27 003 persons in 2011; 3.0 per cent more than in 2010. Turnover grew by 7.0 per cent to NOK 23.3 billion in 2011.

Food and beverage service activities employed 60 073 persons in 2011. Turnover grew by four per cent to NOK 37.7 billion over the same period.

Preliminary figures

Preliminary figures for structural business statistics are only published for enterprises at the industry group level, and with fewer variables than for final figures. Final figures are normally published 18 months after the end of the reference period.
