Road construction costs up 2.4 per cent

Road construction costs increased by 2.4 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2011 to the fourth quarter of 2012. Labour costs increased by 3.4 per cent, while materials and machinery costs rose by 2.7 and 0.3 per cent respectively in the same period.

From the third to the fourth quarter of 2012 the road construction costs increased by 0.4 per cent.

Road maintenance costs increased by 2.2 per cent from the fourth quarter of 2011 to the fourth quarter of 2012.
