Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, recommends that main revisions should be conducted every five years for EU and EEA countries. Norway has followed this recommendation, and seven main revisions of the national accounts have previously been conducted.
The revision of the financial accounts will focus on the input data and compilation methods. The revision process will entail adjustments to the regular working routines, as the revision projects will require substantial resources. As a result, the release of the financial accounts for the 2nd quarter of 2024 has been postponed from September to December. Statistics Norway will release financial accounts statistics for the 2nd and 3rd quarters of 2024 in week 49, and more information on the release date will be provided in the release calendar on Statistics Norway’s website.
