Name	Care measure
Definition	Care is provided for under Section 4-12 of the Child Welfare Services Act (Section 19 in the old Child Welfare Act). All decisions to place a child in care outside the home now have to be made by the county social welfare board. Care is classified as intervention pursuant to Section 4-12 and includes hours of duty on call, foster homes, children's homes, residential work collectives, institutions for drug and alcohol abuse, psychiatric institutions for children and adolescents, psychiatric institutions or other care outside the home.
