Index of Industrial Production

  Norwegian (bokmål) Norwegian (nynorsk)
Name Index of Industrial Production
Definition The primary goal of the Index of Industrial Production is to monitor the development in volume of value added (production minus intermediate consumption) in oil and gas extraction, mining and quarrying, manufacturing and electricity and gas supply. However, it is difficult to measure value added on a monthly basis, so the index maps out the development of production. Production is measured using two types of indicators - physical output and hours worked.
