At 1 October 2009, the area consists of the municipalities of Tysfjord, Kåfjord, Kautokeino, Porsanger, Karasjok, Tana, Nesseby, Lavangen and Snåsa. In these municipalities, pupils will receive tuition in accordance with the Sami Curriculum for Knowledge Promotion in Primary and Secondary Education and Training.
