The correction published on 13 November 2025 shows that overall price growth from October 2024 to October 2025 was 3.1 per cent, not 3.3 as published on 10 November 2025. The general picture of the price growth, including CPI-ATE, is not changed.
SSB published an updated article about the CPI on 13 November 2025.
The error in the calculation of electricity prices means that the fall in electricity prices from September to October should have been larger. This also affects the growth in headline CPI. The method and data sources for calculating the growth in electricity prices needed to be changed in October, due to the introduction of a new government support scheme. This is where the error occurred, and it affects only CPI indices which include electricity.
Unchanged picture for price growth
Corrected indices were published on 13 November 2025. The general picture of the development in inflation is not drastically altered with the new numbers: The twelve-month growth in CPI fell from September to October, albeit more than originally published.
Aside from energy goods, the price growth accelerated from September to October, with a twelve-month growth in CPI adjusted for tax changes and excluding energy goods (CPI-ATE) of 3,4 per cent in October. This number has not been affected by the corrections.
