Largest decline within employment activities

From the 4th quarter of 2008 to the 4t h quarter of 2009 the establishments within administrative- and support service activities experienced a decrease in turnover of 9.9 per cent. Employment activities had the largest decline within this area, with 22.0 per cent.

From 2008 to 2009 the total turnover within administrative and support service activities decreased by 6.5 per cent.

Within the section for professional, scientific and technical activities, the turnover decreased by 10.1 per cent from the 4t h quarter of 2008 to the 4th quarter of 2009. The establishments within legal and accounting activities experienced a decrease of 2.3 per cent. Within advertising and market research, the turnover decreased by 14.1 per cent. The establishments within scientific research and development experienced a decrease in turnover, of 13.3 per cent.

From 2008 to 2009, the turnover within the section for professional, scientific and technical activities decreased by 3.8 per cent.

Increase for real estate

The turnover within real estate activities increased by 8.8 per cent from the 4t h quarter of 2008 to the 4t h quarter of 2009. From 2008 to 2009, the establishments within this area experienced an increase in turnover, by 10.2 per cent.

Important announcement: New industry classification.

A new version of Norwegian industry classification (SIC2007) has been implemented from January 2009. The index of real estate, renting and business activities will be effected from the publishing of the figures for the 1st quarter of 2009. The present section will be divided into three new sections: 1)Real estate activities, 2)Professional, scientific and technical activities and

3) Administrative and support service activities. Furthermore, activities within other development and sale of real estate will be moved to the section Construction. Veterinary activities will be included as a part of the new section, professional, scientific and technical activities.
