Decrease in trade surplus

Norwegian exports in November came to 40.5 billion kroner of which crude oil, natural gas and natural gas condensates came to 22.2 billion. With imports of 23.5 billion, the trade surplus was 17.0 billion kroner, whereas in November 2000 the surplus was 26.5 billion.

The decrease in the surplus came mainly from reduced value of exports of crude oil, from 26.8 billion kroner in November 2000, to 14.5 billion in November this year. In addition the value of exports of refined petroleum products, metals and fish were lower than last year.

The figures are exclusive of ships and mobile oil platforms, the same as for traditional goods imports. For exports, traditional goods are also exclusive of crude oil and natural gas and from January 2001 also exclusive of natural gas condensates.
