  • Decline in turnover for water transport

    Following a continuous increase since 2010, the turnover of the water transport division as a whole fell for the first time by 8.2 per cent from 2015 to 2016, to NOK 151.6 billion.

  • Increased turnover for land transport

    Preliminary figures show that turnover in the division “land transport” increased by 3.4 per cent from first quarter of 2016 to the same quarter this year. 

  • Fewer employed in water transport

    The number of persons employed in the water transport industry division fell by almost 1 120 from the previous year, to 25 189 in 2015.

  • Passenger numbers up in first quarter

    There were 12.4 million air passengers in the first quarter of 2017; an increase of 2.5 per cent compared to the same quarter in 2016. 

  • Public transport has greatest growth

    From 2014 to 2015, the growth in transport work by public transport was almost 6 per cent. The transport work performed by private cars increased by nearly 2 per cent during the same period.

  • Large employment fall in water transport

    After many years of high employment, the water transport industry division experienced a downturn in 2015. The number of persons employed fell by almost 1 400 to 25 000 in 2015; a decrease of 5 per cent from the previous year.
