Steady growth for air transport

Turnover in the industry section air transport increased 23.4 per cent in the first quarter this year compared with the same quarter of 2014.

The preliminary figures for the first quarter this year show that turnover for most of the divisions under air transport continued to grow in this period. The turnover index for air transport was at 196.6 at the end of this period. This shows a growth of 23.4 per cent compared to the same quarter last year. This industry section encompasses firms within air transport with passengers and air transport with goods, but the division for air transport with passengers dominates the figures for the whole industry section.

Turnover growth also for water transport

The turnover index for water transport was at 128.8 in the first quarter of 2015. This is an increase of 17.4 per cent compared with the figures for the same period in 2014. The index for sea and coastal passenger water transport was at 95.9, which is an increase of 2.8 per cent compared with the same period in 2014. Meanwhile, the index for sea and coastal freight water transport increased by 18.7 per cent compared with the same period last year.

Continuous growth for land transport

Preliminary figures show that turnover for firms within the industry of land transport increased by 7.1 per cent compared with the first quarter of 2014. Likewise, passenger rail transport turnover increased by 7.0 per cent compared with the same period last year, while other passenger land transport increased by 8.8 per cent.

Turnover increase for the information and communication industry

Turnover for companies within the industry information and communication increased by 5.9 per cent from the first quarter of 2014 to the same period in 2015.

Slight growth in accommodation and food and beverage service activities

Revenues increased for both accommodation and food and beverage service activities during this period. Turnover for hotels and similar accommodation rose by 7.4 per cent from the first quarter of 2014 to the same period this year.
