Strong growth in rail transport

Turnover in freight rail transport increased by 16.0 per cent from the 2nd quarter of 2012 to the 2nd quarter of 2013. Turnover in passenger rail transport increased by 13.2 per cent over the same period.

Turnover in hotels and restaurants increased by 9.6 per cent from the same period the year before. Turnover in hotels increased by 12.6 per cent, whilst restaurants increased their turnover by 8.0 per cent.

Turnover in water transport decreased by 4.8 per cent from the same period the year before.

Figures for the 2nd quarter are based on data for the month of April. Data for May and June are estimated using historical growth. Consequently, these figures are preliminary and subject to change
