Drop in turnover for telecommunication

The telecommunication industry experienced a 6.5 per cent drop in turnover from the 1st quarter of 2012 to the 1st quarter of 2013.

Turnover in wired telecommunication activities was down 5.3 per cent, while wireless telecommunication saw a fall of 8.1 per cent in turnover.

Different development for hotels and restaurants

Restaurants increased their turnover by 6.7 per cent from the same quarter in 2012, but turnover in hotels fell by 3.7 per cent over the same period.

Small changes in transportation and storage

Turnover in the transport sector as a whole grew by a mere 0.5 per cent from the 1st quarter in 2012 to the corresponding quarter in 2013. Freight transport by road and removal services increased turnover by 3.2 per cent. Sea and coastal freight water transport decreased turnover by 3.5 per cent over the same period

Due to a change in the production of Statistics Norway’s accommodation statistics, the figures for Holiday and short-stay accommodation and Camping grounds, recreational vehicle parks and trailer parks are not comparable with earlier periods.
