Growth within rail transports

In the third quarter of 2007, total turnover within land transports and transport via pipelines increased by 6.5 per cent compared with the same quarter of 2006. Rail transports had the highest growth, but the turnover within air and sea transports also increased.

In the third quarter of 2007, transports via railways increased by 10.3 per cent. Turnover also increased for other land transports. This includes taxi operations, freight transports by road and other land passenger transports. Turnover within these industries increased by 12.1 per cent compared with the same quarter last year.

Up for air and sea transports

Turnover within scheduled air transports increased by 13.7 per cent compared with the third quarter of 2006. For businesses within sea transports, turnover rose by 3 per cent.

Growth in hotels and restaurants

Hotels and restaurants increased their turnover by 8.4 per cent from the third quarter of 2006. The turnover for hotels increased by 6.2 per cent, while the restaurants increased by 9 per cent.
