Decrease in transport costs

The total cost index for road goods transport decreased by 0.3 per cent from September 2007 to October 2007. Over the last 12 months, total costs have increased by 4.5 per cent.

Cost index for road goods transport, by vehicle group. October 2006- October 2007.

The fuel index decreased by 1.7 per cent in October. From October 2006 to October 2007 this sub-index has increased by 1.7 per cent.

Higher insurance premiums

The insurance cost index increased by 1.0 per cent last month. During the last 12 months this index has increased by 0.6 per cent.

Higher tyre prices

The tyre inde increased by 0.5 per cent last month. Over the last 12 months this sub-index has increased by 3.9 per cent.

The other sub-indices show no or few changes over the last month.
