The contents of this table are calculated based on taxable persons who have received a preliminary tax return and on which Statistics Norway has received tax information. The municipal and county classification for preliminary figures follows the taxpayers' municipality of residence according to Statistics Norway¿s population statistics, which is the municipality of residence as of 31 December of the fiscal year. For final figures, the taxpayers' tax municipality forms the basis for the municipal and county classification, which is the municipality of residence as of 1 January of the fiscal year. The number of taxpayers decreases from 2024 to 2025. This is due to the fact that individuals under the age of 17 with limited tax liability were included in the 2024 count, but are excluded from 2025 onwards. Since many in this group only had registered tax liability without reported amounts, the trend for taxpayers with recorded amounts is less affected by the change in population.
