Footnotes
Until 2024, the contents of this table were calculated based on the number of residents 17 years and older recorded in the population statistics at the end of the fiscal year. Starting from 2024, the contents are calculated based on taxable residents 17 years and older who have received a tax settlement and for whom Statistics Norway has received tax information.
Starting from 2024, the tax component 'Interest income' also contains interest from other financial products, interest earned abroad and returned interest. Income from sale of real estate abroad is included in the tax component 'Capital income'.
Starting from 2024, the tax component 'Taxable capital gains on shares and securities' contains capital gains from realisation of shares and interest in investment fund accounts. Capital gains from realisation of virtual assets are included, but other income earned from mining of virtual assets are included in the tax component 'Capital income'. The tax component 'Deductible capital losses on shares and securities' contains capital losses from realisation of shares and interest in investment fund accounts. Capital losses from realisation of virtual assets are included, but other capital losses from the mining of virtual assets are included in the tax component 'Income deductions'.
