Administrative district

Med forvaltningsområde menes forvaltningsområdet for samisk språk, fastsatt i henhold til § 3.1 i lov om Sametinget og andre samiske rettsforhold (sameloven). I forvaltningsområdet gjelder særskilte regler for bruk av samisk språk. Området består fram til 31. desember 2007 av kommunene Tysfjord, Gáivuotna Kåfjord, Guovdageaidnu Kautokeino, Porsanger Porsángu Porsanki, Kárásjohka Karasjok, Deatnu Tana, og Ungjárga Nesseby. I disse kommunene skal også elevene ha oppløring i samsvar med Læreplanverket for Kunnskapsløftet - Samisk.
