Footnotes

From the 1st quarter of 2017 the port call statistics will be based on data from SafeSeaNet (SSN). The statistics now include ships carrying cargo over 300 gross tonnes. Earlier the statistics included port calls from ships carrying cargo over 100 gross tonnes. More bulk ships (ship type 2) are in the new data source registered as general cargo/other dry cargo vessels. The consequences for the statistics are that on port level there will be somewhat fewer port calls, whilst gross tonnage will be less affected. Different ship type codes inn SafeSeaNet also lead to relatively more port calls made by general cargo/other dry cargo vessels and relatively fewer made by bulk ships.
Prior to the first quarter of 2015, figures also include domestic ferry transport.
