Negative net operating result for joint parish councils
In 2001 the joint parish councils had a negative net operating result of NOK 6 million, a decrease from 2000, when the same result showed a positive outcome of NOK 37 million. A joint parish council is an elected local council representing the Church of Norway congregation within a municipality
The accounts for the joint parish councils for the 2001 financial year show that operating expenses were NOK 2 064 million, while operating revenues amounted to NOK 2 067 million, an increase of 8 and 6 per cent respectively.
The joint councils decreased their investments in fixed assets by NOK 30 million, a decline of nearly 17 per cent compared with 2000.
The 2000 financial year showed a positive difference of NOK 72 million between new acquisitions and use of resources. In 2001 the difference showed a negative difference of NOK 8 million.
Net operating results was minus NOK 6 million
The net operating result shows how much of the operating revenues that can be used for investment and provisions for funds.

Total assets increased
The balance sheet showed total assets of NOK 3.9 billion, an increase of about 3 per cent from 2000
Working capital decreased from NOK 393 million in 2000 to 330 million in 2001. A change of working capital is the factor with the greatest effect on liquidity.
