Increased gross fixed capital formation

Gross fixed capital formation as a share of the GDP was higher in 2006 than in the year before. In particular, investments in real estate and services relating to oil and gas production contributed to this growth. In Finnmark, investments relating to oil and gas production gave a share of gross fixed capital formation in regional GDP of 69 per cent in 2006 (65 per cent in 2005). In Møre og Romsdal, gross fixed capital formation amounted to 31 per cent of the GDP in 2006, which was somewhat lower than in 2005.

Household disposable income and consumption

Household disposable income declined from 2005 to 2006 as a consequence of a large decrease in dividends. The decline in dividends was largest for households in Oslo, where household disposable income decreased by NOK 40 000 per inhabitant. Finnmark was the only county with a higher household disposable income per inhabitant in 2006 than in 2005.

On average, household final consumption per inhabitant increased by 6 per cent in 2006. Rogaland had the highest increase of 8.6 per cent, whereas Troms had the lowest increase at 4.3 per cent.
