Your answers are valuable
Statistics Norway (SSB) produces and publishes official statistics on quality of life in Norway based on the responses we receive in the survey.
In the survey, we aim to gather information about how the population experiences their own quality of life, social relationships, health situation, and how satisfied they are with different aspects of life.
The results from the survey are used to map the population’s quality of life, how it develops over time, and whether there are differences between various groups in the population. Anonymous data from the survey is also used for research and analysis by SSB and others. Public authorities and interest organizations may use the results from the survey to develop measures to improve quality of life.
We will ask you about:
- how satisfied you are with different aspects of your life
- self-perceived health and physical health problems
- feelings, thoughts, and attitudes
- social contact with family and friends
- work and the work environment
- housing and your local environment
- everyday life, leisure, and beliefs
- discrimination, sexual orientation, and ethnic or cultural background
It takes about 10–15 minutes to complete the survey, but the time may vary somewhat from person to person.
40 000 people aged 18 and over have been randomly selected from the National Population Register to participate in the survey.
We need answers from everyone who has been selected, and we cannot replace you with someone else if you choose not to participate. Participation is voluntary, but your response will help us produce the best possible statistics on quality of life in Norway.
If you have been selected to participate in the survey, you will be invited to participate by completing an online questionnaire.
You have received a letter in Altinn or by post, in addition to an SMS from Statistics Norway. In the letter in Altinn, you will find a link to the questionnaire you need to complete. You can also use the “Go to survey” button at this webpage to respond and log in through ID-porten.
