Challenges in municipal health and social services
The annual publication of municipal social and health data (named "Hjulet") gives the most recent figures for local health and social services, health conditions and living conditions. In addition to figures for each municipality, figures for districts in the 31 largest municipalities are also available.
Statistics Norway has been commissioned by the health administration to prepare annual overviews of the municipal health and social sector. The report is published in pamphlets from the Directorate of Health and Social Welfare, and is also available on the Directorate's home pages. The background figures can be found in the tables below.
Hjulet is published in paper by the Directorate of Health and Social Welfare. Pdf-files of this version are also available on their web sites (http://www.shdir.no/). Statistics Norway publishes the background figures, before being percentuated as in the paper version.
New figures in this year’s edition
The index for living condition problems has been revised this year. The number of charges on violence by residence was earlier a part of the index. This is taken because different possibilities in extracting these figures from public data systems.
There are also some changes in figures concerning municipal health centre in table 17. This year table 17 shows data on opening hours and the level of cooperation among health centres and other municipal institutions. Table 24 has been extended with figures measuring quality in social services and assistance.
