Record high investments

Total investments in manufacturing, mining and quarrying, and electricity supply experienced considerable growth in 2006. Estimates for 2007 are even higher than the corresponding figures for 2006.

Total investments in 2006 covering manufacturing, mining and quarrying and electricity supply, amounted to approximately NOK 33.4 billion, measured in current value. This is 16 per cent higher than the corresponding figures for 2005. A significant increase in investments within electricity supply contributes to this result.

Estimates for 2007 are 29 per cent higher than the corresponding figures for 2006. This is mostly due to expectations of a much higher level of investment within the manufacturing industry.
