1.9 per cent increase in manufacturing
Preliminary figures for total labour costs in manufacturing show a 1.9 per cent increase from the third quarter of 2016 to the fourth quarter of 2016. The index shows a 2.4 per cent increase from the fourth quarter of 2015.

The index for oil and gas extraction and mining shows a 2.0 per cent increase in total labour costs for the fourth quarter. In comparison construction and wholesale and retail trade show no change in fourth quarter.
