Minor changes for manufacturing
Preliminary figures for total labour costs in manufacturing show a 0.2 per cent increase from the first to second quarter 2011. The index showed a 1.5 per cent increase for the same period in 2010.
Labour costs increased by 1.8 per cent in wholesale and retail trade for the second quarter 2011. There was a 0.4 per cent decrease in labour costs in construction, whilst the index for transportation and storage showed virtually no change for the last quarter.
