Limited companies are run by men

The proportion of female board members in private limited companies is unchanged at 17 per cent, whereas it has increased from 25 to 36 per cent in public limited companies the last year.

Private limited and public limited companies by the board members’ gender. Per cent

This rise is mainly explained by the requirements regarding gender balance in boards of public limited companies. In new public limited companies, the proportion of female board members is 39 per cent, whereas it is 15.5 per cent in new private limited companies.

6.5 per cent of all private limited companies have only female board members, and 72 per cent have only men represented in their boards. The bigger the board, the higher is the proportion of both female and male board members.
