Limited companies managed by men

Norwegian boards are dominated by men. An average of 15 per cent of the members of board and general managers in private limited companies are women. In public limited companies, every fourth member of board is a woman, while there are around 4 per cent female general managers.

General managers and members of board by gender. 1st of January 2007. Per cent

The more employees there are in a limited company, the higher the share of female members of board. In private limited companies with more than 250 employees, there are 19.5 per cent female members of board. The corresponding share for public limited companies is 35 per cent. The reason for a higher share in public limited companies might be the law regarding gender representation.
