Increase within management consultancy

Preliminary figures show that the turnover within employment activities amounted to a total of NOK 18 billion in 2012. This is an increase of 7.7 per cent compared to 2011.

This was the third year in a row where the industry experienced a growth in turnover above 7 per cent. The enterprises employed approximately 12 441 persons in 2011; an increase of 6 per cent compared to the previous year.

Growth within employment activities and travel agencies and tour operators

The 1 603 enterprises within employment activities had an increase in turnover from 2011 to 2012 of 17 per cent, to a total of NOK 34.3 billion. The total growth from 2010-2012 was 49.5 per cent. The industry employed 50 978 persons in 2012; an increase of 10.2 per cent. Travel agencies and tour operators had a total turnover in 2012 of NOK 39.2 billion; an increase of 10.8 per cent. The 1 821 enterprises employed 5 650 persons in 2012, approximately the same number as in 2011.

Stable within advertising and marketing research

The enterprises operating within advertising and marketing research had a turnover of NOK 21 billion in 2012, which is an increase of 1.9 per cent compared to 2011. The employment rose by 2.3 per cent, to 8 347 persons.

Increase within real estate activities

The enterprises operating within real estate activities had an increase in turnover by 9 per cent, to a total of NOK 130.2 billion.

Increase within all industry sectors

These structural business statistics cover the three industry sectors Real estate activities, Professional, scientific and technical activities and Administrative and support service activities. The total turnover was NOK 518 billion; an increase of 10.1 per cent compared to the previous year.
