More guest nights at hotels in June

The number of guest nights at hotels increased by 7 per cent compared with June last year. Norwegians increased by 8 per cent while foreigners increased by 7 per cent.

The largest foreign market, Germany, decreased by 4 per cent compared with June last year, while the second largest foreign market, the United Kingdom, increased by 12 per cent.

Lower room prices and higher lodging revenue

The average room rate in June was NOK 697 compared with NOK 703 in June 2003. The lodging turnover increased from NOK 756 million in June last year to NOK 802 million in June 2004.

Increased occupancy rates

Compared with June last year, the occupancy rate both for rooms and beds increased.

After first six months

After the first six months of 2004, there have been 7.6 million guest nights. This is an increase of 5 per cent compared with the same period last year.

3.2 million guest nights

In June this year, the number of guest nights at the Norwegian collective accommodation establishments totalled 3.2 million, an increase of 7 per cent compared with June last year.
