As of 11 February 2026, tables by level of education were revised. For persons aged 18-24 with an education level below upper secondary, information from the questionnaire is now prioritized over register data. In November 2025, Statistics Norway (SSB) changed the terminology related to involuntary part time work to achieve better alignment with the concepts used by Eurostat and by NAV. The group previously referred to by SSB as ¿involuntary part time workers¿ was renamed ¿underemployed¿. The group previously referred to by SSB as ¿underemployed¿ was renamed ¿partially unemployed¿. Underemployed persons are part time employed persons wishing longer usual working hours and who are able to start with increased working hours within a month. Partially unemployed persons are part-time employed persons wishing and seeking longer usual working hours and who were able to start with increased working hours within a month. Partially unemployed individuals are therefore a subgroup of the underemployed.
