Footnotes

Due to low response rate in the survey of self-certified sickness absence, the time series for selected detailed categories of industry starts 2nd Quarter 2003.
Conversion to SIC2007 are carried out for figures older than 2008. A description of the conversion method can be viewed in 'About the statistics', 'Comparability over time and space'.
Animal husbandry service activities (except veterinary activities), extraction of crude petroleum and natural gas, water transport, private households with employed persons and extra territorial organizations and bodies are not included in the sample survey about self-certified sickness absence.
The figures of change are not adjusted for the Easter.
From the 1st quarter of 2015, the statistics on sickness absence is based on a new data source, A-ordningen. Therefore, there is a break in the series between 2014 and 2015.
The sickness absence rate (sickness absence days in per cent of contractual working days) is here adjusted based on a vacation correction factor. Explained in more detail, the denominator (contractual working days) in the sickness absence rate is adjusted down based on information about people¿s vacation absence. Adjusting for vacation absence was abandoned in 2019. There will be discrepancies between the sickness absence rates that are corrected for vacation and those that are not.
