Increase in pulpwood sales and prices
The average price per cubic metre of pulpwood increased by NOK 34 from the third quarter of 2010 to the third quarter of 2011, while the average price of saw logs decreased by NOK 32. Forest owners obtained NOK 354 per cubic metre of timber.
The aggregated gross value of roundwood sold to the manufacturing industry was NOK 666 million in the third quarter of 2011; almost the same compared with the corresponding quarter in 2010. The average price of saw logs decreased by NOK 32, while pulpwood increased by NOK 34 from the third quarter of 2010 to the third quarter of 2011.
Roundwood removals increased slightly
A total of 1.9 million cubic metres of timber were cut for sale in the third quarter of 2011. This is an increase of 2 per cent from the corresponding quarter of 2010. The roundwood removals increased by 36 000 cubic metres compared with the third quarter of 2010.
