Fewer wolverines shot

A total of 61 wolverines were reported shot or died of other causes in the 2013/2014 hunting season. This is 96 fewer than in the previous hunting season and the lowest number in ten years.

In total, 145 permits to shoot wolverines under licence were issued, and 35 animals were shot. In addition, 23 wolverines were shot as a nuisance.

Decline for quota hunting of lynx

In the winter of 2014, a total of 79 hunting licences for lynx were issued and 69 were shot as part of the quota hunting. Compared with the previous hunting season, the yield decreased by 4 animals. In Norway as a whole, a total of 78 lynx were reported shot or died of other causes.

Fewer bears shot

A total of 5 bears were shot or died of other causes; 8 fewer than in the previous hunting year. Two were shot as a nuisance and 1 died of other causes. In addition, 2 bears out of a quota of 18 were shot under licence.

More wolves shot

A total of 17 wolves were shot; 8 were shot as a nuisance and 5 were shot under licence.
