The average weight of salmon caught was 2.9 kilos in 2005, against 3.3 kilos in 2004. 44 per cent of the salmon weighed less than 3 kilos, 29 per cent between 3 and 7 kilos and 27 per cent above 7 kilos. The corresponding percentage distribution for 2004 was 33, 39 and 28 respectively.

Gaulavassdraget was the most important river system in 2005, with a catch of 37.5 tonnes. This is an increase of 10.3 tonnes from 2004. Since a few catch journals might not be submitted yet, Namsenvassdraget (34.1 tonnes) and Tana and its tributaries (33.8 tonnes) may be said to share the second place. Next in line were Orkla and Altaelva. The estimated catch in Tana is 52 tonnes less than in 2003.
