Less cash for care

Cash for care amounted to nearly NOK 1.4 billion in 2010. Compared with 2005, cash for care amounted to NOK 2.9 billion.

In the period 2005 to 2010, the number of recipients of cash for care fell from 111 300 to 68 000 persons.

Cash transfers to families with children came to NOK 32.9 billion in 2010. Family allowances and parental benefit on birth are the highest transfers, with NOK 14.7 and NOK 13.5 billion respectively.

Transitional benefit, child care benefit and education benefit are transfers aimed at single parents. These transfers amounted to NOK 3 billion in 2010.
