It has long been evident that there are great variations in income among immigrants. By including country background, reason for immigration (grounds for residence permit) and years of residence in Norway, these variations will be described in more detail than was the case in the report "Økonomi og levekår for ulike grupper, 2007" (Rapport 2008/19) (Economic and living conditions in different groups, 2007) This will provide a better foundation for evaluating low income conditions among immigrants. The tables in this report provide figures for some of the countries where the largest groups of immigrants in Norway originate from, and the tables are usually divided into years of residence and reasons for immigration. In addition figures for refugees in total are included, and whether they have attended the introduction scheme or not. Hopefully, the descriptions of the data in this report will serve as a basis for more detailed analyses of low income conditions in order to be able to better choose targeted measures for the most vulnerable groups.
