The gross domestic consumption of electricity increased by 1.8 per cent from September 2004 to September 2005 and was 8 914 GWh. The strongest increase was recorded for the category "gross domestic consumption subtracted consumption in energy-intensive manufacturing". Compared with the same period last year it rose by 6.1 per cent. The electricity consumption in energy-intensive manufacturing amounted to 2 676 GWh. The monthly temperature for the entire country was 1.1 degrees higher than normal. In western and northern parts the temperature was up to 2.5 per cent higher than normal.

Compared to September last year it has been a change from net import of power to net export of power. The import of electricity was 322 GWh and exports amounted to 948 GWh, which resulted in a net export of 626
