High production and exports of power

The production and exports of power were high in March 2005.The production of power was amounted to 13 613 GWh - an increase of 28.6 per cent from same month last year. The net exports came to 1 185 GWh.

The production of power came to 13 613 in March. The production in this month has only been higher in 2000 when it amounted to 13 914 GWh. The average production in March has been 11 383 GWh for the last 10 years. The production has been 40 410 GWh so far this year against 33 687 in 2004. The exports were 1 447 GWh and the imports 262 GWh. The net imports were 943 GWh in the same month last year.

High consumption in power-intensive industries

Power-intensive industries had a record high consumption of power in March. The consumption was 2 965 GWh - an increase of 9.2 per cent from same month last year. The consumption outside power-intensive industries came to 9 463 GWh in March 2005 - an increase of 7.3 per cent from same month in 2004. The temperature was 0.2 degree below normal in March 2005, while it was 2.4 degree above normal in 2004 and can explain some of this increase. .
