Low production of power

The production of power came to 9 212 GWh in October, which is a decrease of 15.1 per cent compared with the corresponding month last year. The consumption of power came to 10 460 GWh. The imports of power to Norway was large in October.

The production of power has been 88 048 GWh so far this year, an increase of 1.5 per cent compared with the same period last year. The net import of power in October came to 1 248 GWh. Norway has imported 12 683 GWh and exported 3 304 GWh so far this year.

High consumption in power - intensive industries

The consumption of power intensive industries was record high in October. The consumption was 2 949 GWh, an increase of 6.5 per cent from corresponding month in 2003. Average consumption in power intensive industries has been 2 627 GWh in October for the last ten years. The consumption has been 27 560 GWh so far this year compared with 24 979 GWh last year. This is an increase of 10.3 per cent. Gross consumption of power came to 10 460 GWh in October, an increase of 0.5 per cent compared with the corresponding month last year. Gross consumption has been 97 427 GWh so far this year. This is an increase of 5 per cent compared with the same period last year.
