Substantial growth in assessed oil tax

Total assessed taxes for companies assessed by the Petroleum Tax Act amounted to NOK 185 billion in 2005, NOK 53 billion higher than the previous year. Special tax accounted for NOK 34 billion, while income tax accounted for NOK 19 billion of the increase.

For foreign companies engaged in maintenance, repair and services for extraction companies, assessed income tax mounted to NOK 209 million in 2005.
