Food and beverage up NOK 1 billion

Retail sales in grocery stores together with food and beverages in specialised stores increased by more than NOK 1 billion, or 5.3 per cent in January and February 2014 compared to the same period in 2013.

In total, these stores had a turnover of NOK 26.5 billion in the first two months of the year. This makes up more than 40 per cent of the total turnover within retail sales.

The total turnover in retail sales in January and February this year was almost NOK 64 billion, which is 2.9 per cent more than the same period last year. By comparison, the Index of retail sales showed an increase of 2.5 per cent during the same period.

Trade and repair of motor vehicles up 2 per cent

Sales and repair of motor vehicles totalled NOK 32 billion in the first two months of 2014; a growth of 2.2 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Wholesale of NOK 134 billion

The turnover in wholesale was NOK 134 billion in January and February this year. This is an increase of almost NOK 5 billion or 3.8 per cent from the same period in 2013.
