Increase in retail trade

The turnover in retail sales was more than NOK 422 billion in 2012, which corresponds to a growth of about NOK 13 billion or 3.3 per cent compared to 2011.

By comparison, the Index of retail sales showed an increase of 3.4 per cent during the same period.

In November and December 2012 (the sixth period), the turnover rose by 0.7 per cent or NOK 524 million compared with the same period in 2011.

Trade and repair of motor vehicles increased

The total sales and repair of motor vehicles increased by NOK 6.7 billion from 2011 to 2012; a growth of 3.5 per cent.

In November and December 2012 the sales and repair of motor vehicles decreased by NOK 1.8 billion compared to the same period in 2011. This corresponds to a decrease of more than 5 per cent.

Wholesale for NOK 823 billion

The turnover in wholesale was NOK 823 billion in 2012. This is an increase of NOK 28.5 billion or 3.6 per cent compared to 2011.

In November and December 2012 the turnover in wholesale was NOK 800 million or 0.5 per cent less than the same period in 2011.
