Retail trade up 8.3 per cent

From 2006 to 2007, the turnover in retail sales increased by NOK 24.6 billion or 8.3 per cent.

In November and December 2007 (the sixth term), the turnover rose by 6.3 per cent or NOK 3.8 billion compared with the same period in 2006.

Sales of motor vehicles increased by NOK 11.8 billion in 2007 compared with 2006. This is equivalent to an increase of 11.3 per cent. Retail sales of automotive fuel increased by NOK 2.3 billion or 5.5 per cent in the same period.

Sales of motor vehicles decreased by 2.7 per cent compared with the November and December 2006. Retail sales of automotive fuel rose by 10.2 per cent in the same period.

From 2006 to 2007, the turnover in wholesale rose by 8.9 per cent. In November and December, the growth was 8.7 per cent compared with the same months in 2006

The figures do not include value added tax.
